Four calligraphy works by TV personality Hideyuki Nakayama, who won an Honorable Mention award at this year's Mainichi Shodo Exhibition, are currently featured in the Mainichi Shodo Association display window on 1F of Palaceside Building. These are part of the works exhibited at his solo exhibition held at Kyukyodo Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo, in August this year, and will be on display until early November.

Nakayama, who began learning calligraphy in his first year of elementary school, resumed his studies 13 years ago under Professor Hiroyuki Aoyama of Yokohama National University, starting with the copying of masterpieces. In an interview with Mainichi Shimbun, he shared that calligraphy, his longest-running endeavor outside of entertainment activities, has allowed him to "become honest, stop disguising my true feelings, and see my real self."
