Okiraku Shokudo Takebashi opened yesterday, July 23, on Palaceside Building B1. A "neighborhood company cafeteria" chain also in Iidabashi and Toranomon—easy to find from the east core, east entrance or Dream Stair.
Shelves hold 20 mains—nikujaga, fried chicken, mackerel simmered in miso, stir-fried meat and vegetables—and some 30 small side dishes beyond: chilled tofu, kinpira burdock, scrambled eggs, salads. Simmered, fried, grilled, stir-fried and dressed dishes overwhelm with variety.
Lunch is fully self-service: pick one main and two sides on your tray; rice and miso soup are served at checkout. Free refills on both—and all for one coin (¥500). Fifty takeaway boxes sold out in just over an hour.
In today's cost-conscious lunch market, variety you won't tire of daily plus wallet-friendly prices are a salaryman's delight.
Hours: weekdays lunch 11:00–15:00, dinner 17:00–23:00; closed weekends and holidays.
