On March 3, during Fire Prevention Week, Kojimachi Fire Station (Chief Ishikawa Takanori) held a large-scale drill at Nippon Budokan (Kitanomaru Park 2-3, Chiyoda Ward). The scenario: Medical tents and super ambulances responded in a near-real exercise. Fifteen organizations and 180 people joined, including Palaceside Building (Mainichi Building Co.), Budokan and Science Museum self-defense fire teams, Tokyo DMAT doctors (Surugadai Nihon University Hospital), Chiyoda Ward Office, Showa Memorial Museum, Kitanomaru Square, Sanno Park Tower, Japan Urban Center and Hotel Metropolitan Edmont. "One-day fire chiefs" were five members of idol group SUPER☆GiRLS—Maeshima Ami, Shimura Rika, Arai Reira, Tanaka Mirei and Miyazaki Rina. Appointed by the Kojimachi chief, they commanded briskly from a command vehicle—one in fire uniform, four in stage costumes, looking a bit cold... A super ambulance broke through the blocked main entrance to rescue trapped casualties. The vehicle transports patients and expands to ~40㎡ (eight beds) for mass-casualty care. Tents were erected quickly; Tokyo DMAT practiced triage. The drill ended with ten hoses blasting water at the 2F restaurant fire.
