To deepen bonds among Palaceside Building tenants, building staff, and tenants themselves, the "Palaceside Building New Year Reception" was held on the 28th in Mainichi Hall on B1, with ~100 tenants and building personnel.

Joint New Year gatherings of tenants and building staff began last year—this was the second. Prompted by the Great East Japan Earthquake's spirit of mutual aid in crisis, Mainichi Building Management organized it.

Two parts: lecture and social hour. Part 1: Mainichi editorial writer Yoko Fukumoto on "Japan's Economy in 2014—Risks and Hope"=photo. Abenomics, which broke the old "cycle" with BOJ easing and lifted stocks, now stresses "creating a virtuous cycle"—"the opposite of a year ago," she noted. Five risks: ① U.S. tapering ② BOJ easing vs prices/long rates ③ 10% consumption tax decision ④ China economy ⑤ Japan-China ties—predicting Abenomics "euphoria" won't last. Hope lies in firms shedding reliance on government, recovering "animal spirits," and bold use of women and youth to revitalize organizations.

At the social hour after President Tsuneo Haneda's toast, participants exchanged cards and introductions with Fukumoto, deepening ties.
