After the brigade chief's (Mainichi Building president) New Year address: ▽initial extinguishing with water-filled training extinguishers ▽indoor hydrant pump operation ▽rescue kit, emergency stretcher, triangular bandage first aid—~50 building staff watched 30 minutes of training, renewing vows for a safe, secure building.

Initial extinguishing training=photo upper=: 12 participants in four groups of three rounds. Ordered "Store fire ahead—extinguish with extinguishers," they ran with units, shouting "Fire! Fire!" while spraying water instead of agent.

Indoor hydrant operation=photo center=: three Aing security staff on 1F performed pump drills like competition—skillfully.

Tokyo's official fire New Year ceremony dates to 1659 (Manji 2)—after the 1657 Meireki Great Fire, Elder Inaba Iyo-no-kami Masanori led four fire brigades before Ueno Toshogu to boost morale amid reconstruction despair. From 1659 annually at Ueno Toshogu; ritualized into today's ceremony. Jan 4, 1875 (Meiji 8), Tokyo Metropolitan Police gathered all fire companies at the old Tokyo government training ground for the first Tokyo Fire New Year ceremony—reviving post-Restoration interruption. Suspended 1945–46; revived 1947. Since 1953 (Showa 28), held Jan 6.
