Men's restrooms in Palaceside Building's east core (elevator wing) are closed in rotation week by week. Some of you have been inconvenienced — we apologize.

The work is part of annual planned renewal of building facilities, strengthening electrical systems. Simply put, we are adding a second main power line alongside aging mains to improve safety.

Specifically, we create space inside men's restrooms on floors 1–9 to run wiring. In finished restrooms you may notice the mirror wall at the entrance angled slightly forward to create space behind for pipes. A small door beside the mirror is not a suspicious secret room.

Restrooms close in sequence for this work. East core floors 2–7 men’s rooms are done; floor 8 is closed now; we will proceed through floor 9, then floor 1, completing Friday, December 20.

The west core is scheduled for FY2014. Only men’s restrooms are affected; women’s restrooms remain as they are.

There is no direct visible benefit like brighter elevator hall ring lights, but this is necessary for safety, security and comfort in the broad sense — thank you for understanding.
