Work to turn the ring lights in Palaceside Building’s east and west elevator halls to LED is finished. All floors from 8 down to B2 were renewed except the ninth, whose light structure differs. Work went from east 7 in order; over the weekend just ended, west 2 and 4 were completed — 560 fixtures on twenty floors are now LED.
For summer energy-saving we had kept lighting at half until last week. From conventional fluorescent half-on = photos right and below some became LED half-on = photo upper right, already twice as bright; LED full-on = photo above makes brightness a “fourfold return”?!
This job is part of converting shared-area lighting to LED in stages. After this work, power use is less than half of before — precisely, the 560
exchanged fixtures total 63,364 kWh a year, down 110,887 kWh (63.6 percent) from 174,251 kWh. In CO2 that is 39.9 tons a year cut.
Palaceside Building will keep working on energy saving.
