Summer vacation is here; riding the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line from Takebashi toward Otemachi and Nakano, you see families and student groups returning from Disney Resort. Probably the most common souvenir in their hands is Duffy-related goods, starting with plush toys (strictly speaking, including goods featuring Duffy's girlfriend ShellieMay).
Duffy & ShellieMay are popular characters you can meet only at Tokyo DisneySea. Walk around DisneySea for a while and you'll see many people holding Duffy or ShellieMay plush — or rather, almost everyone. We bought ShellieMay too, after being pestered.
Tired from crowded attractions, we headed early to Cape Cod Cook-Off restaurant for lunch. We were up at six, so by past ten we were starving. Here you can enjoy the Duffy show "My Friend Duffy"= photo upper left =.
The show recreates the secret of Duffy's birth. Minnie gave Mickey a teddy bear plush so he would not be lonely on a long voyage — that bear is Duffy. So the white part of his face is Mickey-shaped, and there are "Hidden Mickey" marks on his paw pads and near his bottom. The origin story is also a picture book. So cute!!
The restaurant system: ① line up for the show-with-meal queue ② order at the register and pick up food ③ go to the dining area entrance on the right from the main entrance and wait for a cast member to seat you ④ stay until the time on the card given when seated — whether you sit front or back is entirely

a matter of luck. There are two show runs, each about ten minutes (five-minute break between). I sat at 10:15, stay until 11:00 — about 45 minutes, plenty of time to eat calmly and enjoy the show.
The park sells dedicated outfits; true fans buy seasonal clothes by the armful and multiple plush to dress and display. At our house we make do with our child's baby clothes= photo upper right. I think they suit her ... ShellieMay, forgive me!!
