On the Tanabata bamboo in the B1 atrium concourse of Palaceside Building, displayed until the 6th, many tanzaku with wishes were tied again this year. Over 21 days, people working in the building, passersby and restaurant visitors often stopped to write wishes. Meiten-kai, which planned the display, counted 3,170 tanzaku — 846 more than last year's 2,324 despite only one extra week, a record (beating 2,693 in 2011). Everyone has earnest wishes.

——Among the main ones, thoughts of family come first.

「May my family be healthy and full of smiles」

「May a healthy baby be born」

「May my mother's glaucoma not worsen」 and so on.

——Work-related wishes and job-hunting prayers also stood out.

「May I enjoy work every day」

「May I finish my work quickly」

「May I find a job」 and so on.

——Health and body wishes were earnest too.

「I want to lose weight」

「May my spots and freckles disappear」

「May my husband not lose any more hair」 and so on.

——Love and marriage too.

「May I get a boyfriend in August」

「May I see the shape of happiness」 and so on.

——Other unique ones as well.

「I don't want to lose to women」

「Become too big for Earth and fly to space」

「Become an oil baron」

「I want to join a lighthouse」

「May I play the horn well」

「May flowers bloom on the bamboo branch」 and so on.

There were also tanzaku in English, French, Hangul and more — rich variety, international color.

The tanzaku will be offered at nearby Kanda Myojin. Myojin-sama will surely grant everyone's wishes.
