Tokyo Skytree (634 meters), Tokyo's new landmark drawing 100,000 visitors a day, is clearly visible from the roof of Palaceside Building.

At the foot of Skytree lies Tokyo Solamachi. The five-story Solamachi Building, home to Sumida Aquarium and more, and the commercial floors of the 31-story Skytree East Tower together make up Solamachi. Souvenir shops selling Skytree goods have lines every day. The economic effect of Skytree is remarkable.

Every restaurant has a similar queue. Booking a shop on the Skytree side — and a seat facing the tower — is especially hard. It is so close that seeing the whole tower is difficult... yet far away, lit-up Tokyo Tower looks tiny.

At the sky restaurant Top of TREE, hors d'oeuvres are served on tree-shaped stands. Those stands change color with built-in lighting, just as Skytree's illumination does — a stylish touch that delights dinner guests.

July brings summer vacation, and visitors from outside the capital region are likely to increase. Overseas tours are said to include it as well. Skytree's popularity will keep rising.
