Continuing with Metropolitan Police website police boxes.
Most introductions include photos—good—but the terrifying one-pattern parade: a uniformed officer standing at attention before the box (usually alone). Some grip batons as if menacing... Some stations show buildings only. Among these, Ueno Police Station (Taito Ward) is slightly warmer: six of eight boxes show officers talking or greeting citizens (photo above: Ueno Zoo Front Police Box from Ueno Station site, http://www.keishicho.metro.tokyo.jp/6/ueno/index.htm). Honjo Police Station (Sumida) has eight of twelve; Kanda Police Station, covering Kanda and Jimbocho near Palaceside Building in Takebashi, has two of four with a directions-giving mood (photo below: Suidobashi Station Front from Kanda site, http://www.keishicho.metro.tokyo.jp/1/kanda/policebox/pbox.htm). Pointing poses can feel staged or commemorative, but the effort deserves credit!
