Palaceside Building (PSB) is distinguished by its two white tower structures east and west. Even from the Metropolitan Expressway, those towers identify it at once.
Visitors who have never been inside often ask, "What's in those towers?"
When I answer, "Elevators and restrooms," many look surprised.
Now, in this photo, there are three towers.
The one in the center is of course Tokyo Skytree (TST, 634 m). From the pedestrian bridge beyond the National Museum of Modern Art (between Kikko-bashi Gate of the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and Kitanomaru Park), you can see the upper portion of Skytree's observation deck beyond Palaceside Building.
A pairing of a 20th-century architectural masterpiece and a 21st-century digital tower—what do you think?
When strolling around the Imperial Palace, do climb that pedestrian bridge.
