Sleet that began before dawn on the 29th turned to snow in central Tokyo, and many must have had a hard commute. Please take care on the way home today and tomorrow morning, when surfaces may freeze.
The snowy view from Palaceside Building is quite splendid. Hirakawa Gate of the Imperial Palace wears a coat of white = photo. A low pressure system off the southern coast of Honshu is expected to keep snow falling until evening. Making a fuss over this much snow would only draw laughs from Tohoku and Hokuriku.
February ends today. Tomorrow brings March and the Doll Festival. Spring should be drawing steadily nearer...
