"A snowy morning" recalls a famous haiku—revealing one's generation.

On the morning of the 24th, the Palaceside Building rooftop in Takebashi, Tokyo, was a snowscape against deep blue sky. Peering toward the Imperial Palace over the railing, trees wore a light dusting of white. On the ground, thin ice covered the moat before Hirakawa Bridge; no ducks in sight. The moat-side walk was packed snow; pedestrians moved slowly and carefully.

We could enjoy rare central Tokyo snow. If it does not melt by evening, tomorrow morning is a worry.
