The "Tanabata Festival Garapon Raffle," organized by the "Palaceside Building Meitenkai"—a group of voluntary building tenant shops and restaurants—began on the 7th. The raffle will be held for two days through the 8th, from 11:00 to 19:00 each day. Big prizes were won right from the first day, with cheers echoing alongside the ringing of the jackpot bell.
Since June 15, the Meitenkai has been distributing one raffle sub-ticket for every 500 yen spent at participating stores (five tickets for one draw). The first prizes include an Apple Watch, a Dyson air purifier that doubles as a heater in winter and a fan in summer, and Nintendo's hybrid gaming console Switch 2 (one of each), while the second prizes are high-end hair dryers (four winners).
