Central Tokyo enjoyed blue skies from the morning of the 8th, and the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, across from the Palaceside Building, were busy with visitors. On the Honmaru lawn in front of the keep foundation, travelers from overseas posed for photographs against Somei Yoshino cherries that, though just past their peak, were still nearly in full bloom.

The city was a little chilly at dawn on the 8th under cold air, but as the sun strengthened the day turned into gentle spring weather. The 9th will also be sunny under high pressure, though a front extending from a low is expected to bring clouds from evening. Rain is forecast for the 10th, at times falling hard.
