This week on the 11th marks 15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, which caused unprecedented damage. Memorial ceremonies, commemorative events, and tsunami drills are being held across the country.
The Palaceside Building held its spring comprehensive fire drill last week on the 6th, with all tenants taking part—about 270 people. After a building-wide evacuation announcement assuming a fire following an earthquake, participants used the stairs and moved once to ground level. In the main-entrance lobby they then split into three groups for a drill on receiving stranded commuters, including tasting emergency rations and learning how to assemble portable toilets and handle waste.
