The year-end is closing in; New Year’s is just two days away. At the Palaceside Building, preparations for the holiday are moving ahead, with flower arrangements, tapestries, and other New Year decorations taking shape.
The atrium wall from B1 to the first floor is dressed with New Year–themed tapestries in the Gujo honzome dyeing tradition that began in Gujo Hachiman, Gifu: “Shishimai” (1.8 m high by 2.5 m wide) and “Treasure Ship” (2.2 m by 1.7 m). In the central concourse on B1, work is underway on a flower arrangement featuring giant green bamboo.
The Palaceside Building will be closed from tomorrow, the 31st, through January 4. It reopens on January 5. Please enjoy the 2026 New Year decorations.
