The Palaceside Building is taking part for the first time in Tokyo Architecture Festival 2025 (organized by the Tokyo Architecture Festival Executive Committee), Japan’s largest architecture-experience event, which opened on the 17th of this month. From today the 19th it began a special display of architectural materials such as photographs from the construction period and design drawings. The display runs through the 24th.

The festival lets visitors experience the appeal of architecture through openings of areas normally closed to the public, talks, and other events. Following last year’s first edition, which drew a total of 65,000 visitors, this is the second year. With an expanded area, participating buildings have grown from 54 last year to more than 90 this year, including the Palaceside Building.

The special display presents aerial photographs of the construction site and the building at opening, the ceremony for the opening of Takebashi Station, photographs of the opening reception, and exterior drawings of louvers and rain gutters, among other materials, in the Palaceside Building Corner show window beside Mainichi Hall on the first basement level. A documentary, “Palaceside Building: A Record Through Completion,” tracing the path to completion, is also being screened.
