A products fair centered on buntan, the citrus now in season, and other Kochi specialties will be held for two days from this week’s 12th in the free space beside the main entrance on the first floor of the Palaceside Building. Tourism pamphlets and flyers on relocation will also be available, and individual consultations will be offered.
The organizers are Japan Learning Co., Ltd. (first floor of the Palaceside Building) and the Tosa Hata Association, a general incorporated foundation of people from the Hata region of Kochi. It is the second sale of Kochi specialties, following last August. Buntan is among the highest in vitamin C of any citrus and is rich in minerals. Kochi accounts for more than 90 percent of national shipments; the fruit for the fair comes from Sukumo, a leading producing area in Hata.
Also on sale are konatsu, a citrus with a refreshing tartness and refined sweetness; tomatoes from Mihara Village in Kochi; wine; chestnut shochu “Dabada Hiburi”; and “kibigoma” made from kibinago sprats.
