Forty tapestries for “Mynavi Tour de Kyushu 2025,” the pinnacle of domestic road racing to be held this October, have been hung this week in the atrium on the first floor and first basement level of the Palaceside Building. The photographs on the tapestries come in 40 varieties, capturing last year’s race—including riders racing with the vast Aso landscape behind them.

Tour de Kyushu, which began in 2023, is in its third year. Strong teams and riders who compete in the Tour de France, the world’s premier race, contest the event over several days. The 2025 edition, October 10–13, expands from the usual three prefectures of Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Oita to five, adding Nagasaki and Miyazaki.

The tapestries vividly convey the appeal of the race: riders pedaling in front of Kokura Castle, a pack racing a course overlooking Genkai-nada, and moments of contact with spectators along the road.
