We are inviting senryu about the Palaceside Building. Please express warm stories, memories, and chuckle-worthy episodes connected with the building in verse. The deadline for the “New Year Senryu Contest” is Friday the 31st of this month. We look forward to your entries.
Thirteen works will be selected. Prizes are an Amazon gift card worth 20,000 yen for the grand prize (one verse), 10,000 yen for each excellence award (two verses), and 5,000 yen for each prize (ten verses). The judge is copywriter and senryu poet Takeshi Mizuno. He has been inducted into the hall of fame of the Mainichi Newspapers’ popular “Nakahata-ryu Ban’no Senryu” (selected by Takashi Nakahata), and now teaches at Mainichi Cultural Center (Tokyo), serves as a contest judge, supervises television senryu variety shows, and hosts radio programs.

Winning works will be announced by posting in the same east popup space from Wednesday, February 12, through Friday, February 28.
