The Palaceside Building’s first opening day of the year was January 4, but full operation began with the Monday opening on the 6th. In the central concourse on B1 a giant New Year flower arrangement about three meters high has appeared, creating a festive atmosphere. Fitting the season, it centers on green bamboo and pine, gathered with wintersweet, nandina, cymbidium, and lilies, and the pedestal is dressed with this year’s zodiac animal, the snake.
It was made by Kasuko Kitago of Arch, the florist on B1, who came on the 5th and spent a full day on the display. Together with the Gujo honzome tapestries “Shishimai” and “Treasure Ship” on the B1 atrium wall, please enjoy the New Year arrangement, full of youthful vitality.
