On the 15th, the last day of the national autumn fire-prevention campaign (November 9–15), the Palaceside Building held its autumn comprehensive fire drill on the roof and elsewhere. About 300 people took part.

The comprehensive drill is held twice a year, in spring and autumn, in conjunction with the national campaigns. Training on the day began at 2:30 p.m. on the assumption of a magnitude-6-upper earthquake. After initial-response practice such as taking cover under desks, participants followed internal broadcasts and used usable stairs and evacuation stairs to go once to ground level.

They then moved to rooftop training, practicing discharge with extinguishers and indoor hydrants, life-saving with an automated external defibrillator (AED), and a smoke-experience drill (photo). A Chiyoda Ward earthquake-experience vehicle visited the west entrance, and participants felt shaking from intensity 4 through 7.
