The Palaceside Building’s customary Christmas decorations appeared this week. In the central-concourse atrium on the first basement level stands a giant Christmas tree about five meters high. Bright flowers such as vanda and delphinium dress the tree, and butterflies drawn to the blooms dance above it. “Icicle lights” on the surrounding walls and the tree itself glow in champagne-gold LEDs.

Besides the main tree, four small trees about one meter high stand to the left and right of the east and west “Stairway of Dreams” on the first floor. A mid-size tree 2.3 meters high is placed on the first floor near the west entrance, and another 1.8 meters high in the B2 passage leading to Takebashi Station. White flags bearing the letters “Merry Christmas 2024” line the shop fronts, heightening the holiday mood.
