On the 30th, as autumn finally began to settle in, a giant pumpkin-like object more than three meters high appeared in the B1 concourse of the Palaceside Building—the building’s first Halloween decoration. The display continues through early November.
An autumn garland richly dressed with red and yellow fallen leaves is a Halloween symbol known as a jack-o’-lantern (a “pumpkin lantern” or “ghost pumpkin”). Mounted on a pedestal about one meter high, the garland easily exceeds two meters in diameter; passersby look a little startled by its presence.
On the “Stairway of Dreams” linking B1 and the first floor (two locations), the handrails on both sides are scattered with Halloween witches, pumpkins, ghost silhouettes, and flags, the colorful decorations glowing vividly under LED lights.
