A Tohoku products fair gathering sweets, ingredients and gourmet foods from northeastern Japan opened on the 4th in the free space beside the main entrance on the first floor of the Palaceside Building. The fair runs through Friday the 8th of this month.

Regional dishes such as kiritanpo, ichigo-ni, imo-ni, iburi-gakko, Inaniwa udon and Kitakata ramen line up with famous sweets including Nanbu senbei, butter mochi, yubeshi, morokoshi and Kamome no Tamago. Besides Tohoku-only flavors of Kaki no Tane — gyutan, grilled oyster and Happy Turn gyutan — there are playfully named sweets such as "Sanriku Kamome no Hanakuso."
