On the 6th, Chiyoda City's district-wide cleanup day, when the community works together on beautification, some 80 volunteer employees from tenants in the Palaceside Building joined in and sweated over picking up litter around the building.

The cleanup began in 1999 so that people who live in Chiyoda could beautify the streets with their own hands, and it is now held twice a year, in June and November, under the Chiyoda City Living Environment Ordinance.

Participants gathered at 8 a.m. in front of the building's west entrance, then set out with work gloves, litter tongs and garbage bags supplied by the building. Cigarette butts, empty cans, PET bottles and other trash were collected in front of the east main entrance; the haul filled ten 90-liter bags.
