The Tokyo Metropolitan Red Cross Blood Center will dispatch a blood donation bus on the 20th to the west entrance of the Palaceside Building and call for donations. The Japanese Red Cross Kanto-Koshinetsu Block Blood Center says stocks of transfusion products (red blood cell products) have fallen and is asking especially for 400 ml donations of types A and O.

The Palaceside Building hosts a blood drive twice a year, in spring and autumn. Reception hours that day are 10–11 a.m. and 12:30–4 p.m., excluding the lunch break. The draw itself takes about 10 minutes, but allowing for the interview and other steps, the visit takes 30 to 40 minutes from check-in to finish. Donors receive results of tests such as ALT (GPT) and γ-GTP; the Red Cross says they can be used for health management.

According to the Kanto-Koshinetsu Block Blood Center, weekday donors in its one prefecture and nine prefectures have been falling short of planned numbers, and types A and O in particular have not reached the proper stock level (three weekdays' supply to medical institutions). We ask for your cooperation.
