Hokkaido apple pies made with rich butter and delicacies perfect for pairing with drinks — a pop-up store gathering products from North Grand, a new Hokkaido-born brand, arrives on the 28th in the pop-up space on the east side of the Palaceside Building's first basement floor. When the goods went on sale this week on the 25th in front of the Takebashi Station ticket gates on the building's second basement level, they proved such a hit that an encore appearance was hastily arranged.
North Grand is a new brand created in December 2021 by Northsmart Co., Ltd. (Ishikari, Hokkaido) under the concept of "creating a new kind of Hokkaido brand unlike any before." Last August, the first North Grand shop opened in Tokyo's Nihonbashi-Ningyocho district.
A favorite among drinkers is "Hotty," whose selling point is "zero fat yet packed with umami!!" The concentrated flavor of scallops spreads through your mouth, growing richer with every bite. Soft and conveniently sized, it is also recommended for women and children. "Cheese Ikaty," brimming with irresistible squid umami, is popular as well. Rounding out the lineup are baked treats such as financiers and cookies made with Hokkaido-produced eggs, flour and butter.
