Tanabata decorations, a fixture at the Palaceside Building, appeared from the 12th on the first and first basement floors. The Palaceside Building Merchants Association (chair Hiroaki Okada), made up of volunteer restaurants and shops, worked with the building to hang colorful streamers in the atrium and set four bamboo-decoration stands in the first-floor corridor for tying tanzaku strips.

Mini bamboo decorations have lined shopfronts since early June, creating a festive Tanabata space. There is a corner for writing wishes on tanzaku, and people returning from meals were already tying their slips to the bamboo. After the festival the slips will be dedicated at Kanda Myojin.
