Large and small carp streamers swimming with vigor appeared from the start of the week in the arcade on the first and first basement floors of the Palaceside Building. Large carp in the central atrium are back for the first time since 2018 — fully five years. Their powerful return carries a wish to overcome the pandemic.
The Palaceside Building Merchants Association (chair Hiroaki Okada) began the display in 2009 so that "people who work in the building and visitors can enjoy a sense of the season." This year tenants other than shops on the first and basement floors were also asked to join, so the number of mini carp in front of tenant spaces jumped at once; the carp swimming in the building are the most ever, a spectacular sight.
