Popular fresh-cream buns have appeared! Sales of the buns, said to have been featured many times on television information programs, began on the 3rd in the popup space on the east side of the Palaceside Building's first basement. They will be sold for five days through Friday the 7th of this month, then another five days from Monday the 10th through Friday the 14th, ten days in all.
They are made by Shimizuya Shokuhin, a cream-bun specialist in Okayama. Fresh-cream buns evolved the old-fashioned cream bun into a new-texture sweet; the company's website says, "The mochi-like, moist, soft dough and overflowing fresh cream create a superb harmony," and invites customers to "please enjoy this exquisite bun woven from selected ingredients and careful craftsmanship."
The top three are custard, fresh cream and chocolate. Each is 250 yen, and any combination of five is sold as a set for 1,000 yen. They make a meal or snack for yourself, and a souvenir for family as well.
