The public opening of Inui-dori at the Imperial Palace, where cherries reached their peak this weekend, saw somewhat fewer visitors in the rain, but Monday the 27th brought better weather and many people came. They enjoyed spring at the palace while admiring Somei-yoshino, Sato-zakura and other blossoms in full bloom.

The path had been opened each spring and autumn, then cancelled from 2020 because of COVID-19 and resumed in autumn 2022. This is the first spring in four years, and the first in the Reiwa era.

Inui-dori runs about 750 meters from Sakashita-mon on the Marunouchi side of Tokyo Station, past the Imperial Household Agency building, to Inui-mon on the Kitanomaru Park side. According to a Mainichi article, there are about 270 trees along the path, including 103 cherries such as Somei-yoshino, yamazakura types and weeping cherries. The opening lasts nine days through April 2.
