Tastes of the northern land gather! A fair of popular Hokkaido foods — Jagapokkul, Marusei Butter Sand, Hanabatake Bokujo fresh caramel and more — is on in the free space beside the main entrance on the first floor of the Palaceside Building. It was well received last September, so it is back. The fair runs through Friday the 3rd of this month.
Dried goods such as Hidaka and Rausu kombu, assorted ramen from Asahikawa and elsewhere, and miso soup are on the tables, but sweets remain the mainstay. Especially popular is the Tokibi Choco series; this time three kinds appeared: Tokibi Choco, Tokibi High Milk Choco and Tokibi Choco Premium (583 yen each, tax included).
According to the maker, Tokibi Choco coats freeze-dried corn with selected quality white chocolate; the appeal is a crisp bite and a gentle sweetness that spreads softly. Tokibi High Milk Choco is less sweet, and Tokibi Choco Premium steps up the corn flavor and roast, so each can be enjoyed in its own way.
