BAGEL & BAGEL, one of Japan's largest bagel specialty chains, opened on the 12th for a planned three days in the event space on the east side of the Palaceside Building's first basement. Mainstream bagels have a hard bite, but BAGEL & BAGEL is known for a moist, chewy texture achieved by its own method. Danish and other breads from the related brand Aikido Pan, which supplies major cafe chains, are also on the counter and popular especially with women.
According to the company, it aims for bagels suited to Japanese tastes; the soft finish is easy for children and stays tender over time. Besides staples such as "classic bagels" like blueberry, "meal bagels" such as plain that suit sandwiches, and "snack bagels" such as cocoa white chocolate and maple walnut, limited-time items "Hokkaido fresh cream and caramel" and "caramel pumpkin" are 200 yen each (tax included).
The shop says, "They are low in cholesterol, oil and calories, so women on a diet and fathers watching lifestyle diseases can enjoy them with peace of mind."
The pop-up is in the east basement event space from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, then moves to the front of the Tokyo Metro Takebashi Station ticket gates from 5 to 8 p.m. Please note the change of place.
