Crab, shrimp, scallops and other seafood; potatoes, Yubari melon and other produce; sweets; ramen. A fair of foods from Hokkaido, popular as a "treasure house of flavor," opened on the 12th in the free space beside the main entrance on the first floor of the Palaceside Building and is already a hit.
Besides staples such as Marusei Butter Sand and Hanabatake Bokujo fresh caramel, the tables are stacked mainly with sweets — Yubari melon caramel, milk caramel, butter caramel, walnut mochi and Yubari melon Pocky — plus curries such as cheese curry, seafood soup curry and scallop curry, Hokkaido-only items like uni ochazuke, and accompaniments for rice and drinks such as flaked salmon and gyojaninniku soy pickles.
About 150 kinds are on sale. Encounters with delicious tastes await. The fair runs through Friday the 16th.
