The “2022 Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition New Member Artists Exhibition,” gathering work by artists who will be promoted to membership of the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition in April, opened this week on the 7th at the first-floor gallery Art Salon Mainichi in the Palaceside Building. New work by 186 artists who will carry the next generation, in seven categories—kanji, kana, modern-poetry calligraphy, large-character calligraphy, tenkoku (seal carving), carved characters, and avant-garde calligraphy—will be introduced over about a month in five periods. Admission is free.
