Summer-like weather is already lingering. The sun is strong, and a short walk leaves you sweaty. Today’s lunch-break walk was to the Self-Defense Forces Tokyo Large-Scale Vaccination Center (Otemachi Joint Government Building No. 3), which has been on the television news almost every day.
The center was set up under a national policy to speed COVID-19 vaccination. People with reservations stream in without a break and are absorbed into the venue under staff guidance. Near the entrance, large fans blowing mist have been installed against heatstroke.
Someone who was actually vaccinated there said, “From reception it flowed smoothly; it was about 15 minutes to the shot.” In the 15-minute wait afterward they book the second dose—efficient.
On the Ministry of Defense and SDF website, the first nearest station listed is Takebashi. It is a two-minute walk from exits 4 and 2, on the opposite side from the Palaceside Building. If the eligible groups expand, it should be quite convenient for people connected with the Palaceside Building.
