East of the Palaceside Building, across Hakusan-dori, Marubeni Corporation’s headquarters has come home. Reconstruction is finished, and work is said to start on May 24. The headquarters functions moved to Nihonbashi just before the old building was demolished, in June 2016, so this is a return after five years. The Takebashi neighborhood looks set to grow livelier.
The new building has 22 stories above ground and two below. It is 111.9 meters tall, nearly 50 meters taller than the old one. For reference, the Palaceside Building roof is 38.2 meters high. From Marubeni’s upper floors you should be able to look down on our roof garden.
