COVID-19 has not stopped spreading, and a national state of emergency has at last been reissued for Tokyo and the three neighboring prefectures. Many of you probably spent this three-day weekend staying home.
Mainichi Building Co., which manages the Palaceside Building, has sent tenants a document titled “A renewed request for thorough COVID-19 prevention” and is strongly asking for cooperation. Unlike during the previous emergency, the document notes that “a fading sense of crisis among the public has been cited as one cause of the spread,” and urges that “the virus can spread without symptoms; self-aware behavior is what matters most.”
As new measures the government is asking for “a 70 percent cut in commuting through telework” and “refraining from nonessential outings after 8:00 p.m.”
At the Palaceside Building we will further strengthen the measures we have already taken and make sure they are widely known.
1. Preventing clusters
・Avoiding face-to-face contact with visitors, customers, and business partners
・Refraining from nonessential business trips
・Thorough after-hours infection control, including avoiding dinners
・Efforts to avoid the “three Cs” in the workplace
2. Measures in shared areas (elevators, corridors, and so on)
・Refraining from conversation
・Wearing masks
・Keeping social distance
・Avoiding two or more people brushing teeth in restrooms at once
3. Basic measures
・Thorough mask-wearing
・Washing hands regularly
・Daily health checks such as taking one’s temperature
Restaurants in the building have also, in response to the declaration, moved to lunch-only service or shorter evening hours, and some have closed temporarily. We may cause inconvenience, but please observe dining manners for infection prevention when you visit.
