The area at Exit 1b, which leads directly to the street from the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line Takebashi Station gates (Kudanshita side), changed a little in late March. The two photos above have three "differences." Can you find them?
The stairs come up right beside the Palaceside Building west core (elevator tower)

. The answers are in the photo at right. (1) A sign reading "Restaurant Street" in dark brown on white. Below it, "Palaceside Building" in white on dark brown, and below that the English "PlacesideBuildingRestau

rants" in stylish lettering =photos left, above. It used to say "Palaceside Arcade Dining Street" in white on blue.
(2) is the reverse of (1): "Restaurant Street" in white on dark brown, "Palaceside Building" in dark brown on white, with the same English. This sign

also carries a simple you-are-here map =photos left, below. Before, the map was the main feature, with "Palaceside Arcade Dining Street" in smaller type.
(3) is easier to see in the photo below from the foot of the stairs. New handrails were added.
The makeover is not only here. The marble stairs with the escalator that connect Takebashi Station — the building's de facto main entrance — to the first basement also changed. The first of the photos below is the new look. Yes, handrails were added at the center of the stairs and on the right for people going up. The flight is a fairly long 24 steps, and we had heard it was hard for older visitors, so we added them this time.
We want to keep improving what we can so many people can use the building with peace of mind.
