Tokyo Fire Department Kojimachi Fire Station held its fire-drill review meet on the 9th at Kitanomaru Park Parking Lot 3 (1-1 Kitanomaru-koen, Chiyoda-ku); the Palaceside Building's "Mainichi Building Co. Volunteer Fire Brigade" also took part.

Fire can spread all at once as time passes; whether you can put it out or stop the spread within a set time is the contest, and the volunteer brigade's role is crucial. The review aims to raise skills of volunteer brigades at large workplaces that carry that heavy duty, and is held each year by fire station.

This time 42 teams of three entered four categories: general (men) A and B, women's, and security-guard. A sequence from taking cover and initial extinguishing with extinguishers, to actually discharging indoor hydrants, to aiding the injured was judged on how accurately it could be done in the allotted time.

which is contracted for building security. As one of 11 top-level guard teams they showed the fruit of everyday training. Dashing with a hydrant hose and discharging =photo above, spraying an extinguisher =photo right, first aid =photo below= — they worked briskly and we thought they were in a good place, but there seem to have been a few small misses, and they missed third place.

The Palaceside Building stacks training with tenants as well — the New Year muster, spring and autumn comprehensive fire drills. We will keep working toward a safe building.
