Chiyoda Ward All-Together Cleanup Day was held on June 6. At the Palaceside Building, 121 people including tenants picked up litter around the building (photo at right). Well done.
The cleanup is held every June and November under the ward’s Living Environment Ordinance, so that people who live or spend their days in Chiyoda can make the streets beautiful. The Palaceside Building has taken part from the start.

At 8:00 a.m. they gathered in front of the west entrance at Takebashi Crossing, received work gloves, litter tongs and bags prepared by the building, and fanned out around the site. Some building staff and contractor staff wore sashes borrowed from Chiyoda Ward (photo below).
Unfortunately it was rainy from morning. The rain had stopped by the start, but now and then a few drops fell. Even so, participants did not lose heart and worked up a sweat for about 30 minutes.
Regular large groups included 49 from NTT Business Associate in matching fluorescent yellow windbreakers and 29 from FamilyMart in black jumpers. Building staff and contractor staff in facilities and cleaning totaled 35.
The litter was collected in front of the east main entrance (topmost photo). Fourteen 45-liter bags (seven burnable, four non-burnable, and one each of cans, bottles and PET bottles). What is gathered in the cleanup is collected by Chiyoda Ward; we put on the dedicated yellow stickers and set the bags in the designated place.
Thank you to everyone who took part. We look forward to November as well.
