Brand-new shop signs (floor directories) have appeared this week on the east and west of the first floor and first basement of the Palaceside Building. Have you noticed?
The photo above is the glass in front of the women’s restroom on the first floor east. Until now this spot had only an A-to-Z list of tenants from the basement through the ninth floor (photo “BEFORE”); a new sign (“AFTER”) has been posted to its left.
The first floor and first basement form the shopping arcade called Palaceside Arcade, with restaurants and retail such as convenience stores. On the first basement the

directories stand just down the stairs from the east main entrance and under the “Stairway of Dreams” (the woven atrium stair between the first floor and first basement) on the west of B1 (photo at right). Until now they were a floor plan and shop names in type (first photo at the end). Those two B1 boards have been changed to colorful directories with logos, shop photos and food photos as well as names (second photo at the end).
On the first floor, besides the east side above, the west side also has a similar posting on the glass beside The Mainichi Newspapers’ Tokyo bureau just inside the entrance. The B1 signs have the floor plan vertically in the middle; the first-floor signs have the plan horizontal at the top — a small difference.
We hope using the arcade will be more fun and convenient.
