Familiar Doutor Coffee has returned to the Palaceside Building. Crowds came at once; it is packed (photo above).
It opened on February 28 on the east side of the first basement, across from Ichibandori and Myojinmaru. For those who remember the old days, it is easier to say it is across from where Doutor used to be.
Doutor itself needs no introduction. The previous Palaceside shop closed exactly a year ago, on February 28, 2017. A revival after a full year. You can feel Doutor’s strong wish to be in this building. The closed shop was Doutor, but not a headquarters store — a franchise. The franchisee withdrew for its own reasons, and headquarters apparently wanted to open again. We are grateful.
The old space, together with the former Katsugyu next door, has been Myojinmaru since July 2017.
Sapporo Lion closed in 2017 and the space was vacant; Doutor is opening in the west half of the old Sapporo Lion

. It is headquarters-operated, not a franchise. Floor area has doubled from 19.90 tsubo to 39.88. The interior feels spacious (photo at right).
With this opening, a layout map (directory) of the shops in this corner has also appeared at the turn of the corridor from the hall down from the east main entrance toward Hitotsubashi-guchi (Hakusan-dori) (photo below).
Doutor has 62 non-smoking seats and 13 smoking. Hours: weekdays 7:00–21:00, Saturdays 7:00–18:00 (closed Sundays and holidays).
