The Palaceside Building parking garage has begun a limited-time discount campaign: on Sundays and holidays (closed days) the daily fee is capped at 2,000 yen. It already ran on the holiday Monday, January 8, and Sunday the 7th; eight more Sundays and holidays remain through Sunday, February 25, so please use it. (The photo above is the flyer.)
A survey of garage users last summer found that 40 percent of respondents wanted “time-of-day discounts at night and early morning, and holiday discounts.” In response we are trying a limited “holiday discount.”

The garage is open 24 hours, 365 days. For cars (four wheels) on a spot basis the fee is a flat 300 yen per 30 minutes, regardless of time.
In this campaign, even if you leave the car all day on a Sunday or holiday, the charge stops at 2,000 yen. Normally three hours is 1,800 yen, so anything over three hours is a saving.
A “campaign on” sign is posted above the entrance from Hakusan-dori (photo at right). There is also a sign at the corner from Uchibori-dori.
