Suddenly, it is Christmas. The Palaceside Building’s annual Christmas tree has ap

peared this week in the atrium of the first-basement central corridor. We will explain this year’s concept later; at a glance it feels like snow.

The whole looks like the photo at right. Height this year is a bit lower, about five meters. The theme is “Nature Christmas.” To evoke a Nordic forest, several birches stand east and west of the tree, the floor is covered in fluffy snow (cotton, of course), and LED li

ghts are set in the snow as well, blinking with the tree and birches to raise a glittering mood. Of course it cannot be only wood and snow, so gold-toned ornaments are placed throughout, showing a casual luxury.

The ornaments also use plenty of snowflakes (photo at left above), and the Stairway of Dreams from the first basement to the first

floor is decorated with that “snow” too (photo at left below).

In addition, pennants with the white letters “Merry Christmas 2017” (photo below left) and wreaths hang from the corridor ceilings in front of shops on the first floor and first basement, and smaller trees stand left and right at the top of the Stairway of Dreams (photo below right).

A little over a month and a half remains in the year. Work is in the home stretch, and a happy Christmas and New Year wait beyond. Switch on and off; when it is time to celebrate, let’s really let go.

If you come near the Palaceside Building, please look at the tree.
