FamilyMart Palaceside Building, which had been on the first-floor east, moved Monday, July 4, to the former Eisuu Soken site on the first-floor west and opened. By the windows facing the Imperial Palace and Uchibori-dori an “eat-in” corner where you can sit for a light meal has appeared; tenant staff and others are already using it (photo above).

The familiar green sign is at the entrance (photo at lower right). Near the corridor, sundries; beyond them sweets; farther in, boxed lunches, bread and desserts. An ice-cream case sits with a thud.

The biggest change is area. It is much wider. From 29.43 tsubo the new shop is — wait — 91.85 tsubo. More than three times as large.

Eat-in has 16 seats, lined toward the glass, so a light meal with the Imperial Palace green as borrowed scenery is rather stylish.

A smoking space has also been set up for smokers.

Within about half a year they plan to sell Class 2 and Class 3 medicines (exact timing unset).

To mark the opening, a three-day sale through July 6 (Wed) is on: 50 yen off rice balls, boxed lunches, pasta, sushi, soba/udon and sandwiches, and more (see photo below).
