Palaceside Building held a "disaster-response drill" on the 17th. About 50 people took part, centered on the 1F disaster-prevention center and the B6 central monitoring room.
The drill started at 10:00 a.m. on the scenario of "an earthquake of lower 6 intensity overnight." Mainichi Building Co. staff received mass safety-check messages and replied via smartphone screens on a dedicated web page — "Safe at home," "Can come to work," and so on

Assuming no building staff on site at night, overnight security from contracted firm Aing and facility management from Groove Ship confirmed safety and set up a provisional command post at the 1F disaster-prevention center=photo at top. Following manuals and on-site commands, they inspected the building, handled fire, transported the injured, and notified elevator contractors, among other tasks assuming elevator shutdown, shelf and ceiling collapses in shops and offices, and fires.
Palaceside Building works daily on disaster prevention and drills for earthquakes and fires, and will continue training toward a safer, more secure building.
